I was so shocked to hear that Kevin had passed away. I remember so many braais when we were young, hanging out with Graham and Kevin riding around on their plastic scooters - they had all the cool boys’ stuff. 

I followed his career progress on LinkedIn and with my dad through Mike and Marge. They were all so proud!  He did so well and seemed to be so full of life and so family oriented.

We seem to always connect during these very sad times but this one is far too soon and doesn’t make any sense. Sending love to and your kids at this awful and unbearably  sad time.

It is with shock and deep sadness that I heard about the untimely passing of Kevin. 
I have fond memories of the time we were colleagues and friends at the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station outside Cape Town in South Africa in the early 1990's . 
Although he was 5 years my junior, I was soon learning more from him then he was from me.
It was here that he met Kerry and they immediately formed that heart-warming bond with each other. 
I was honoured to attend their wedding and later meet their newly-born children.
Kevin was smart, witty, funny, almost always had a smile on his face and always willing to patiently assist his colleagues. 
He made extensive contributions to the work projects that he was involved in.  
He also had sporting talent, excelling in Tennis, cricket and golf.
It was a blessing to have known him, to have worked with him and to have considered him a friend.
Kevin had a sharp mind, a good heart and a genuine soul. He will be missed by many.
To Kerry, the children and the rest of his family and friends, I give my deepest condolences.

I kind of grew up with Kevin (his father, Mike, was super close friends with my father, Alan Sharp). So many pool parties, braais (BBQs), and shenanigans. Kevin could always be counted on for a laugh, an adventure, or just a piece of advice. I was lucky enough to meet up with him and Kerry in San Diego in 2019, and it was like I'd seen him yesterday. An easy breezy friend. He will always remind me of my great childhood, as we ran around, half feral, in South Africa.  🥰

Friends since 1997, Kevin and Kerry arrived with Brendan at our Eagle Team training conference in Oxnard California. We instantly bonded and so started a friendship that survived moves to many different cities, two young South African born couples both making our way in the United States.  Whether it was going to cricket matches, the Hollywood bowl, Lego land, spending weekends in Huntington Beach, or Leucadia, we made the most of the times we got together! Kevin and Kerry Introduced us to the Honda Odyssey minivan and we returned the favor by introducing them to Costco! We  shared many good times together. Easter’s where Kevin showered the kids with Squishies. When I think of Kevin the word that comes to my mind is Excellence, Kevin had a spirit of excellence that impacted everyone his path crossed. He was also a genuine bundu basher, and adventurer. We were just fortunate enough to be a small part of the journey! Kerry, Brendan and Amber, know you always have a place to stay here in Tennessee! Kevin, you were taken way before your time. Kerry, Brendan and Amber our hearts go out to you and we think of you everyday. 

I remember being so excited when you and Kerry asked me to be your bridesmaid all those years ago and I will remember your wedding day forever. You both were a perfect match and were always hugging and  laughing together. You even let me have a sleepover at your first home together and we had leftover stew or casserole  on toast for breakfast. I felt very special being able to do that and I have always looked up to and admired you both. 

The last time we saw you was when we came to visit you in San Diego with our baby Flynn. He loved your chickens and your dogs and being passed around everyone. You and Kerry had us all there and even set up your camping van for my folks with a bottle of champagne outside and made such a fuss for their Ruby anniversary. You fed us delicious steak (crack something or other) and red velvet cake. You both were always up for fun and adventure and had the best life together.

From reading these messages on here Kevin, it’s no surprise what a loved and respected man you are. I promise to see Kerry as often as we both can.

We've been friends the Wilsons for many years, and are heart broken to hear of Kevin's early passing.  It was such a shock, and I now prefer to think that the best ones are urgently needed in a better place, and it's something we cannot understand at this time.

Kevin was tremendously brilliant, and always with a quick wit and a joke.  He often and repeatedly tried to explain to me what the blockchain actually is .  I feared for my life and just tried to survive against him on the pickleball court, and he taught me never to bet against a South African in sport.  I enjoyed our many conversations about technology, travel, and sometimes politics over the gourmet dinner table and will miss his humor, and 5 pm Friday texts to meet at The Lost Abbey.  

Rest easy my friend, and peace be with you.

As i write Words seem so meaningless at this moment.

When I was 13 I lost my Dad and Stella lost her Dad at 23.

I still remember the sadness and shock and how devastated we all felt .

The only consolation is we all knew Kev for the man husband and father he was and that memory you will never lose. 

Physically my Dad and mom are absent but today so many years later I still smile . at their love and affection, and for all the wonderful memories I was left with.

I had the pleasure of playing with Kevin at Marstons Mills.  By all accounts everything written about him was true on the court as well.  I consider myself fortunate to have known him oh so briefly.   When I grow up, I hope I have have achieved what he as achieved as a person (and I am 60 years old)  My sincerest condolences to all who have lost a genuine person.

There’s so much to say about Kevin, but words seem inadequate to express just how wonderful he was. His marriage to Kerry was truly extraordinary—a partnership filled with adventure, joy, and a deep connection that many only dream of. Their life on the road in their RV, finding happiness in the simple things, was a testament to their love and contentment.

Every time I was in Kevin’s presence, there was good wine, engaging conversation, laughter, and genuine happiness. He had a unique ability to bring joy to everyone around him. I’ll never forget the first time he played Boggle and scored the highest point word I’ve ever seen—it was a remarkable moment that perfectly reflected his sharp mind and joyful spirit.

Brendan and Amber, I can’t imagine your sorrow right now. I hope these messages provide some comfort. I’ve never seen so many heartfelt words about someone as I have for your dad. His impact was profound, and his legacy lives on through both of you.

Kerry, few people experience the kind of marriage you and Kevin had. I am deeply sorry for your loss and the suddenness of his passing. I’m truly sorry he was taken from you so soon. I’m grateful to have witnessed the beauty of your relationship. Kevin's memory will always remain a cherished part of our lives.

Our hearts break for Kerry, Brendan & Amber!

Kevin was one of a kind! Gentle, kind, athletic, witty and smart!
He was in the prime of his life and was so excited about the future!

Kerry:  Kevin continues to love you and we all know how proud he is of the wonderful wife and mother you are!  You two were nothing short of  a match made in heaven & that is exactly where Kevin is, proudly watching over you, Brendan and Amber!

Brendan and Amber:  Your dad thought the world of you and I have no doubt that he is going to enjoy watching you continue his legacy!

Kevin was a great athlete and I was immediately impressed with his backyard cricket game.  Years passed and we got to see Kevin in Bath UK just after Brendan was born.  How proud he was!  

In 2002 Kevin and Kerry hosted me for a week in Carlsbad and convinced me to move to the USA as I fell in love with the American way of life.  At the airport I struggled to close the door of their Honda Odyssey.  Kevin looked at me and said "Ryan, you are in America and if anything is hard to do, you are doing it wrong!"....as he pushed the button allowing the door to close itself.  Oh how we laughed!  I couldn't believe how busy the freeway was.  Kev taught me a little trick:  "Stick to the slow lane as no one is in it and you can bypass everyone else"... and added that "cops are just watching those in the fast lane."  Wise words indeed!

Kevin, thank you for pushing me to fulfill my dream of playing Football in the States.  It changed my life!  Thank you for flying me out to California from Ohio when I was just a poor student athlete.  Thank you for proudly wearing Ohio State colors & thank you for your patience and support whenever I had to download new software.  Most importantly, thank you for being the incredible human being, husband and father that we can only admire and respect!

Until we meet again, fly high! You made the world a better place because of WHO YOU ARE!

Kevin is the husband of our niece, Kerry and Dad to Amber and Brendan, and one of the kindest persons I have ever known.

From the evening, many years ago, when Kerry and Kevin arrived at Kerry’s family home in Pinelands SA, excitedly announcing their engagement, our hearts were warmed, and Kevin has been a treasured member of our family ever since!

Kevin was compassionate.  When my own beloved husband, Allistair, died, Kevin and Kerry insisted I spend some time with them where, they enveloped me in love and caring. It was a period of great tranquility. The three of us sitting in their peaceful garden,  listening to the birds, as dusk gathered, talking and sharing, with Kevin periodically attending to his next concoction on the ‘Braai’ -  Kevin was quite the chef!

Kevin could be very funny.  I remember the family visiting us in BC where we took them for the famous Tim Hortons donuts and TimBits. Kevin was appalled at the ‘bits’, the service.. everything, and never let us forget the TimBits story every time we met! Kevin had such a sense of humor!

Kevin loved his and Kerry’s relatively new home which provided an escape from his busy and successful  career.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       During my visit we travelled to beaches, fishing ports and lighthouses, and walked and talked…and talked.

And it wouldn’t be Kevin without the eating places! From fresh fish and chips to the ultimate sushi, a decadent weakness we all shared!

I know Kevin was such an accomplished man in so many ways, but it was the gentle warmth of his heart, and his compassion, which I will remember the most.

Kevin will be missed more than words can say, and my heart aches for my dearest Kerry, Amber and Brendan.

Such a quiet calm presence the man had.  I never heard Kevin speak or posture in a grandiose manner, but yet he had more right to than most people’ I know. Good to his core, a natural humbleness that would make you feel welcome in minutes of meeting him. His wry smile was well practiced,  and could keep you guessing as to whether he agreed with you or thought you foolish. His sudden passing , shocks to the core, because he always had you thinking…I can’t wait to spend more time with Kevin Wilson.  Kev you showed  us how to love by example with your big love for your treasured Kerry, and your children, Brendan and Amber.  Thank you my friend, you will not be forgotten. Garron, Natalie and Leo.

We were shocked and saddened at the tragic news of the unexpected passing of Kevin. Our hearts ache for Kerry, Brendan and Amber.

 It was the early 90’s that we first met Kevin as he entered our lives by marrying Kerry, my cousin, and becoming a part of our extended family. Over the years, we enjoyed making incredible memories highlighted by epic family San Diego vacations and the Wilson’s visits to Vancouver. We so appreciated Kevin and the example he set to those around him. His incredible compassion, hospitality, generosity and of course, humor enriched all our lives.

 Kevin was passionate about all aspects of life and his presence will be sorely missed. Hugely successful in his SAP consultancy days and more recently with Microsoft but all that pales in comparison to his love, loyalty and passion for his family. Amidst the busy “seasons’ of life Kevin always made time for us; building sandcastles on the beach, RV trips, elaborate backyard activities, the list goes on. Thank you for embracing us, thank you for embracing life.

Kerry is my beloved niece and my heart breaks for her, Brendan and Amber, losing their loving husband and Dad.
From the time Danny and I met Kevin in Cape Town before they married,  we knew Kerry had found the love of her life.
Kevin was funny, compassionate, kind, loving and clever and he and Kerry treated each other with such love and respect.  Their marriage was one of which dreams are made of.
We mourn the passing of this beautiful human who was taken far too young and in the prime of his life.

I only knew Kevin briefly, we met on the pickleball courts in Marston's Mills, MA and our games instantly complimented each other.  We became fast friends as he was jovial, affable and a great athlete.  He was a good friend on and off the court and he will be missed by all that knew him.

Kevin was my manager at Microsoft for a Year. I am glad to have worked with him. The first thing comes to my mind when I think about Kevin is the interactions I had with him during one-on-one meetings and what a great listener and a very positive person he was. After re-joining Microsoft, I was fortunate to have connected with him again. I was very shocked and sad to hear this news. His positivity will still live in the memory of everyone he has ever interacted with. Praying for his soul to Rest in Peace.

I worked with Kevin over couple years at Microsoft and we went through quite a roller coaster ride together. He kept his positivity when we faced challenges and was one of the co-workers that I can trust and talk about anything not only about work, but also about anything.

One of his favorites saying that sticked to me was "Living the dream". It makes me tear just thinking about him saying those words because I can still hear it. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

This video makes me smile because of how Jim reacts, but also Kevin's voice and his laughs that I can hear in the background. I miss you, Kevin.

I am saddened by this news. Kevin was always friendly, helpful and willing to mentor me when needed. He was a shining light in the consulting community, always holding his customer’s needs as the priority. I have fond memories of the event hosted in your San Diego home for a bunch of strangers on the HD Supply project.

I met Kevin on the pickleball courts in  Barnstable. We played in a couple tournaments together and he was a kind man with a great attitude.

I met Kevin at the pickleball courts and right away, we hit it off and he quickly became one of my favorite people to play with. His South African banter always had me laughing and I enjoyed giving it right back to him. This one really hits me hard and is a reminder to live life to the fullest as he did. I looked up to him and am so saddened by this. I had been texting him to come play over the past couple weeks and this is shattering. I'm grateful to have known such a great spirit and may he rest in peace.

"The recovering consultant"—that’s the humorous introduction that springs to mind whenever I think of the much-loved Kevin. Beyond our initial online exchanges, I had the privilege of getting to know, interact with, and host Kevin during his visit to India in June 2024.
Kevin was the embodiment of courtesy and generosity. He showered everyone around him with care and compassion, even going so far as to ensure that Omar, his cab driver, was well-fed. His kindness was boundless, extending to everyone he encountered, at the hotel lobby, office, restaurant, cafeteria etc,. In meetings, Kevin had a knack for encouraging colleagues to speak openly, giving them the gentle nudges they needed, to share their thoughts and ideas more openly. His supportive nature made everyone across the team feel valued and heard. His vast knowledge and expertise in SAP is well known and was a priceless asset for the team.
            
Kevin's passion for cricket was infectious. A fervent supporter of the South African team (he found himself in a delightful dilemma when they played against the USA). Every break-time during the work was an opportunity for him to share his admiration for Brian Lara, Jacques Kallis, Pollock & Warne Brothers, recounting his observations and epic game moments with enthusiasm that would bowl us over. Last month, when the World Cup T20 finals came around, Kevin was eager for SA to win, but he was the first to congratulate our Indian colleagues on the Indian team’s victory, exemplifying his true sportsmanship.

Kevin was also a doting father, always praising and expressing his pride in his son and daughter. His love for them was evident in every conversation. He shared a few incidents of how generous & free spirited his son is – while beaming with pride.
When I confessed, I haven’t travelled much, he motivated me to travel the world and spoke to me about his own journey and how travelling from South Africa after marriage helped him change his perspective and changed

We are so grateful for the many wonderful memories we have created with you, Kevin, Brendan, and Amber over the past 15 years and all over the US. It has been such good fun from sun up and bubbles for breakfast to gourmet dinners at sundown. Kevin was a tremendous friend and companion, he is dearly missed. Love you all.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Kevin through work over the past year - he is the heart of our team. He was an awesome coach and leader - and was generous with his time, talent, and treasure to make everyone else as successful as possible. On a personal note - he was one of the funniest people I've ever met, and had a special way of letting you know how much he cared about you, through jokes, quality time, and showing genuine interest in your life outside of work. When we had a chance to speak about his wife and kids - you could tell that they were his joy, his everything. We will all miss his laugh, his hot takes, and the passion and fun he brought everywhere he went. To his family - my prayers and deepest condolences are with you.

Very rare that I meet people that I know right away are wonderful. Kevin and Kerry are those people. I am truly heartbroken for Kerry and the kids knowing that Kevin is in a better place and left such a great footprint on this earth with his attitude and personality!  Words will never be enough but I hope in some way over time Kerry and the kids will know how truly lucky they are to have had Kevin as a husband, friend, and father.

Kevin was an awesome friend and mentor to me. He supported me through all of my tough times at work and personally, and it was an honor to be in his presence. 

I think I speak for many when I say that Kevin's passing comes as a complete shock; the man had more passion for his family, ideas, and life than perhaps anyone else I have met. 

I was honored to get to know Kevin's family through our discussions, his adventurous and loving son, hardworking and talented, his passionate and intelligent daughter who continued to climb to new academic heights, and his loving and loyal wife who stayed by his side throughout all of the RV adventures. 

Kevin stood up for what he believed in and didn't let other's opinions sway his stance, I admired that he used his certainty to guard others, he was a man for his flock. 

I don't have many mentors at Microsoft, and Kevin was my first. I can't say that most people take the time to really get to know me, or anyone for that matter, but Kevin was an authentic person who wanted the same out of his friends and colleagues. I am the same way, and I will deeply miss our bond. 

I will continue to thank Kevin for the gift of his presence and for his help with my life. There aren't enough words to describe the way Kevin cared.

To Kerry, Brendan and Amber... Kevin was a very special person who impacted so many lives, including mine.  We pray for you all and think of you daily. 
I spent several years commuting and working with Kev going back to 2004. We had some really wonderful conversations on our drives up to orange county from Carlsbad (in his mini) about all things under the sun from SA, to braais to biltong and to the Boks. We created a strong friendship during all those years on projects together, even playing tennis on a regular basis in Arizona.  Boy, was he a skilled tennis player! To say he played a huge part in my professional career would be a gross understatement.  My wife and 3 children are living better lives because of what he taught me.  He was a master at simplifying the most complex of subjects.  He taught me almost everything I know to this day and with so much patience and kindness, never raising his voice, never complaining as I asked a thousand questions, then followed by a thousand more.  For this I will forever be grateful for the kind soul he was to me and my family.

You will be sorely missed my Dear Friend. You will forever leave a massive void in our lives!

Dear Kerry, Brendan & Amber… Kevin was truly one-of-a-kind; principled , technically brilliant and hard-working.  Beyond the hole that his passing has left in your lives, he will truly be missed at work too - having presented with him around the world, and then worked with him at Microsoft, I have a first-hand view of the size of that hole, where ‘irreplaceable’ may even be used to describe him at work too!
