

Margaret slipped away from life October 28, 2013. She was born with a love of learning and was an avid reader. One of her most favorite places was the library. At a time when few single heads of house existed, Margaret worked full time for Traveler’s life Insurance. She kept the family home and raised two children Christopher and Kurt. She wed the love of her life Donald . Margaret had a passion for politics and travel. She was twice elected to her party’s National Convention as a delegate. She contributed her talents and ideas to various boards. Margaret was an active member of The League of Women Voters, The Cape Cod Conservatory, and numerous charities. Margaret and Donald were members of The Explorers Club. Margaret loved walking the streets of New York City where she grew up as a child. She was a New York Yankees fan. She donated to libraries, institutions of learning, museums, and animal shelters.
In her early years she lived in various beautiful cities. Chicago, Paris and New York. Wherever she lived she took the time to discover what treasures the area held. Margaret and her husband traveled widely. They visited Armenia, Jordan, Syria, South Africa, Libya , Mongolia, and West Papua New Guinea. Margaret had a great infinity for the natives and a great concern for the animals and endangered species. The Segurs felt blessed to be included in many tribal rituals and festivities. Margaret was awe struck witnessing the natural habitat of many species of South African animals. Margaret and Donald were avid balloonists and toured these countries from the ground as well as the skies. Margaret used her love of learning to turn travel into an adventure. She settled in Sandwich, Ma.. Margaret had the love of laughter and wit which she shared freely with friends and family. Including her husband and children, she is survived by grandchildren Colleen (Stacy), Heather , Tara ( Adam) and Tracy. In addition she is survived by her great-grandchildren Christopher, Brandy and Emily, Gabriel and Ava, and Phineas. Margaret believed making friends was a life long commitment and will be missed by those who loved her. All will cherish her gifts of laughter and beauty.
