Nécrologie de Nicholas Christiani
Nicholas P. Christiani, 66, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 Nick grew up in Quincy and moved to Sandwich in 1985. He worked alongside his father, a general contractor, developing Rof-Mar Estates on Lawrence Pond. With close friends, he also started an environmental contracting business. He was proud to be a 45-year member of Operating Engineers, Local 4. Nick loved being outdoors. He spent most summer days sitting in the sun on the shores of Lawrence Pond while listening to the Red Sox. Other days he would rise early to walk the Cape Cod Canal for miles. He loved to cook and to experiment with his smoker grill and rotisserie. Every year on the Fourth of July he would invite family and friends to his home for a clam bake. His other passion was to ride his Harley with his friends. He was always there to help others. There were many recipients of his generosity – he always donated his time and skills to those in need. Nick was a devoted parishioner at Corpus Christi Parish and enjoyed greeting parishioners every Sunday. He was close to and respected by Reverend George E. Harrison, the deacons, the ushers, and his many friends at church. Nick leaves behind his mother Mary, brother Frank, one sister, longtime friend and brother-in-law Michael Gibbons, and three sons: Nicholas, Matthew and Daniel. He is also survived by their mother Doris and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a trusted friend and colleague to many in the Cape Cod contracting community. He is recently predeceased by his father Frank Christiani. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 31 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt 6A, Sandwich, MA from 4:00-7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, June 1 at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd, East Sandwich, MA at 1:00. This will be followed by burial at Sandwich Town Cemetery. We will miss Nick with all our hearts.
