

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Paul Kenneth Penney. He was born on July 11, 1944 to Florence and Paul J. Penney. He passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 after a brief illness.
Paul, aka “Wally”, grew up in Lexington MA and attended college in Miami Florida to study aviation, which led him to a highly decorated career in the United States Army as a Fixed Wing and Helicopter Pilot. Paul was a combat veteran, serving two tours of the Vietnam War where he received numerous accolades for bravery, including the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Purple Heart. Paul served his country and state for 20 years, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (4).
Throughout his life Paul was an avid golfer, a superior Cribbage player, lover of boating, and a passionate fan of all the Boston sports teams. Paul truly loved spending his time with family; from coffee and walks along the Cape Cod Canal, to teaching his kids how to swing a golf club in the backyard, he was an incredible father and devoted husband.
Paul is survived by Kathleen, his soulmate and wife of 48 years, his four children; Kayla, David, Christopher, Stephen (and his wife Marina), his amazing sister Janet LeBlanc, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren; Elise, Gwen and Lucas.
You are cordially invited to pay your respects to Paul and his family on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA 02563.
His burial will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:15am at the U.S. National Cemetery in Bourne, MA 02532.
