Robert L. Jordan

Born in Bennington, VT, Bob was the son of the late Llewellyn and Eunice (Maynard) Jordan. He graduated from Bennington Catholic High School Class of 1966 and then obtained his Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph's College and Castleton State College in 1970.

Following graduation, Bob taught school in Wells, NY, before becoming a Stewart on the Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, VT. Excelling in golf, Robert became a member of the Professional Golf Association with the Albany Country Club and the Belleville Biltmore Hotel, where he met his partner and the love of his life, Robert K. Mix, who predeceased him in 2011.

Retiring from golf at an early age, Bob and Mixer settled in East Sandwich where Bob found his niche in the Arts. Bob became very involved in the needlepoint and embroidery world and was the first male to become a certified judge in the National Needlepoint and Embroidering Society, something that afforded him the ability to travel around the world to judge needlepoint creations. Bob was a very gifted artist who won many awards. He used his skill and talents to teach the arts to people of all age groups.

Robert is survived by his sister, Linda Sandquist and husband John of VT, sister-in-law, Linda Jordan of Gainsfort, NY. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, John Sandquist (Jen), Michelle Sandquist, McKenzie Sandquist (Andy), Michael Sandquist (Katelyn), Katlyn Jordan, Rik Jordan (Charlene), Laura Killian (Pat). In addition to his parents and partner, Robert was predeceased by his brothers, Richard, Donald, Dennis and Scott.

Mr. Jordan's Visiting Hours will be held in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich on Thursday from 5-7 PM. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the Parish of Christ the King, 3 Job's Fishing Rd, Mashpee. Burial to follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
