

William C. Taylor, R.L.S., P.E. of Bradenton, FL and Sandwich, MA died suddenly November 7, 2011. Born in Worcester, Ma on March 19, 1927 to Helen S. Larry Taylor of Leicester, MA and Wilfrid C. Taylor formerly of Liverpool, England. Graduated from Auburn High School, served in the Navy in WWII, and attended Norwich University. Established his own land surveying and engineering firm and lived in Auburn, MA until 1971 when he became Town Engineer in Sandwich MA. He served the Town in that position until retiring in 1985. After a short retirement he took up the challenge of becoming Assistant City Engineer in Bradenton, FL. He served Bradenton in several roles retiring in 1998 as Director of Public Works, City of Bradenton, FL.
Known for his straight forward manor and sense of humor, Bill’s was a life well lived; and he did it his way.
Bill filled his retirement years with travel, cooking, reading, on a constant quest for knowledge and truly enjoying his golden years with his wife Carol.
Bill will be missed by his wife, Carol E. McArdle of Bradenton, Florida and Sandwich, Ma. He will also be missed by his large extended family including his children Tuli Taylor, of NYC, Jackee Shepherd, Bradenton, FL, Jane Taylor, Franklin, Ma and William C. Taylor II, Westminster, MA and four grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held 1-3 PM Sunday Nov. 13, at Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, Rte 6A, Sandwich, MA. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers it is Bill’s wish that donations be made to Hospice of Cape Cod, 270 Communication Way, Barnstable MA 02601.
