Mrs. Schunk was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schunk, parents Morris Tilton and Sarah Flanders Barwick, sisters Ruby Brantley, Mary Smith, Nannie Lou Mosley and brothers, Joe Cephus Barwick, Charles Edward Barwick and Donald Barwick. Mrs. Schunk was born in Emanuel County, Georgia. She worked 13 years with the Southern Bell Telephone Company before marrying and raising two boys in a home filled with much love. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sports.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Gregory Schunk of Huntsville, Alabama and Robert Alan Schunk (wife Renea Welch Schunk) of Marietta; granddaughters Elizabeth Delaney Noe (husband John Noe) of Atlanta and Catherine Allyson Schunk of Marietta; grandson Austen Daniel Schunk of Atlanta; and sisters Martha Blizzard (husband William E. Blizzard) of Adrian and Lois Fizer (husband Arthur Fizer) of Lincolnton.
A grave side service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA followed by a reception/brunch at the Camps Kitchen and Bar (255 Village Parkway, NE Ste. 310, Marietta, GA 30067, https://www.campskitchenbar.com/).
