

Betty (Rose) Stivers Perry of Sandy Springs, GA, passed away on September 27, 2016 at the age of 87. Betty was born on August 31, 1929 in Cleveland, TN to the late Theodore E. Stivers, Sr. and Eulalee Rose Stivers. She was married to Charles Albert Perry for 58 years, who predeceased her January 2, 2008. She was also predeceased by her brothers Theodore Edward Stivers of St. Simons Island, GA and David Alwyn Stivers of St. Paul, MN. Betty grew up in Rome, GA, moved to Atlanta as a teenager and attended NAPS Girls School (which later became Westminster Private School). She married Charles A. Perry on August 13, 1949, they relocated to California for Charles’s career and then returned to Atlanta in 1954, and spent her remaining years in the Atlanta area. She spent much of her life raising her sons and admiring her grandchildren. Outside the home she worked for Retail Credit Company (Equifax Inc.), the Fritz Orr Camp, The Institute in Basic Life Principles, the Sandy Springs Voter Precinct and other organizations that supported her love for her family and faith in Jesus Christ. She is survived by her sister Rachael Lou (Wakie) Stivers Heckman of Sherman, TX and her sister-in-law Peggy Brown Stivers of Asheville, NC (but predominantly St. Paul, MN); sons, Stanton Perry and his wife Charley of Rome, GA; Mark Perry of Austell, GA; Dean Perry and his wife Linda of Rex, GA; and Brian Perry of Houston, TX (originally Atlanta, GA); as well as 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 1st, from 5pm to 7pm at H.M. Patterson & Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A Memorial Service will be Sunday, October 2nd, at 3pm with a reception to follow at Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA), 1438 Sheridan Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30021.
