

Carol Colbe of Woodstock, GA passed away on July 6th, 2013 at Hospice Atlanta surrounded by family. Carol was born to Esther Kronick and William Schneider on December 3rd, 1925 in Queens, New York. Although she resided most of her life in the south, she always identified herself as a New Yorker. She was married to Arthur Colbe for 34 years. Carol was a graduate of Agnes Scott College and majored in history and creative writing. She was passionate about literature, passionate about Gilbert and Sullivan, passionate about the arts and especially music, passionate about traveling, passionate about her roots as a Jew and a Democrat. She was passionate about all things British. Most of all she was passionate about her love of her family. Carol will be remembered best for her beautiful voice, her uncanny sense of humor, her infectious laugh, and her animation. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Suzanne Brodsky, her husband, Arthur Colbe, and her sister, Doris Donner. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Mons of Woodstock, GA, four grandchildren, Michelle Goldstein of Dallas, TX, Wil Hersh of Atlanta, GA, Aeton de Long-Hersh of Minneapolis, MN, and Shelly Sanden of Marietta, GA, and their significant others. Carol is also survived by three great grandchildren, Justin and Lorraine de Long-Hersh and Zachary Goldstein. There will be a private memorial service for close family members at a later date.
