

Charles Edward McCormick, age 39, of Marietta, GA, died August 12 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, who will never forget the joy and love he brought to their lives.
Charlie was born December 27, 1985, to Gary Charles McCormick and Susan Paris McCormick, in Atlanta, GA. He is a graduate of Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs, GA and of Florida State University.
After his college years, Charlie returned to Atlanta where he worked in the Construction Supply Industry, most recently as an Outside Sales Associate with Heydan Supply. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, strong work ethic, and a wonderful sense of humor.
A lifelong Christian, Charlie’s favorite holiday was Christmas. He especially loved getting together with family and friends, participating in planning and cooking holiday meals. He strived to be a unique gift giver, hoping for a smile or laugh from each recipient.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman. He spent countless weekends at the family farm in Reynolds, GA, where he spent time in the woods or hunting deer. He often traveled to Florida, fishing with friends and family. Most of all, he relished his trips to Alaska to fish for Halibut and Salmon, hunting in Idaho for Elk, and going to Africa to hunt Plains Game.
Since childhood, Charlie was a passionate Atlanta Braves fan. Win or lose, he watched every game till the last out.
In addition to his parents, Charlie is survived by his brothers, Scott McCormick, Matthew McCormick (Anna), girlfriend Victoria Barley, to whom he was deeply devoted, and his dog, Murphy. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, as well as a host of cousins.
The Celebration of Life service for Charlie will be held Saturday, September 6 at 11 AM at HM Patterson & Son – Arlington Chapel, in Sandy Springs, GA. Visitation with family will take place after the service.
