She was an avid lover of music and sang in the church choir for over 35 years. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad as well as exploring the creative arts, especially watercolor painting. She graduated from North Avenue Presbyterian School, NAPS, (now Westminster), and Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, VA, where she served as President of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Consistent throughout her life, she radiated a positive outlook and bright spirit. Charlotte was happily married for 57 years to Robert Hall Gillespie, M.D., who served on active duty in WWII as Captain with the U.S. Army, Medical Corps-Emory Unit. Charlotte and Bob raised their family in an environment of love, faith and gratitude.
Charlotte had friendships spanning 90 years and loved getting to know people of all ages and with diverse interests. Her embracing and adventurous qualities led her to many friends who enriched her life. For the last seven years Charlotte enjoyed meeting new and old friends at Buckhead Atria on Lenox Road where she appreciated their loving care and family atmosphere.
