An Angel Goes Home- Adieu Professor C.J. Ifedili
I still recall vividly my first encounter with Professor Ifedili in the 2005/2006 academic session as my first year course adviser during my undergraduate programme. She was very accommodating and supportive. This made us as young students to travel to Anambra State for the funeral of her late husband. 
The office of prof. was our candy shop. She had a bowl of assorted candies for us her students. This tradition she sustained till she retired. 
Prof. Ifedili was ever ready to celebrate my every accomplishment. I remember her excitement, when I was employed as a staff of the University of Benin. I remember her excitement when I got my PhD. Although she was not present when I did my final PhD thesis defense, she presented a giant congratulatory card to me (which still decorates my sitting room till date) upon her return, accompanied with some good some of money. This she did even though, she was not my supervisor. This mode of celebration was her unique way for all her PhD supervisees and academic children, which I was privilege to be. 
Prof. Ifedili took me like her biological child. She always had a smile for me. She was the one who motivated me to present my first PhD seminar (which was later published), and to begin publishing academic papers. On the day, I presented my final thesis at the departmental level, Prof. Ifedili had already taken permission to rest from work, but immediately she learnt I was presenting, she came to witness and support me.
My dear professor and mummy, it breaks my heart to know, I will never see you, get your messages on WhatsApp and no more voice calls again from you. My consolation is that you have gone home like the saint triumphant.

She was like a mother to me as i spent most of my time in her home at B44 SSQ.
I recall the last video call i had with her where she was so full of life and joyfully giving me advice as always.
