Curtis Gene Brown, age 84, of Dacula, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 1st of September 2015. He was born on the 10th of September 1930 in Loyal, Kentucky and is survived by his beloved wife, Bettie Born Brown; daughter, Jennifer Ceran; son, Daryl Brown; three step-children, Page Harty, Lynne Harty, and Russell Harty; and 10 grandchildren. Curtis was an orphan who grew up in the 1930’s and against all odds, was granted a scholarship to the University of Tennessee where he studied and played Division I Football. Upon leaving Tennessee, he had a very successful career working for a number of companies including: Pan-American World Airways in New York, Citi Bank, Trust Company Bank of Georgia, First National Bank of Atlanta, Merrill Lynch, and Smith Barney. Curtis was known as a loving husband, a caring granddad, a friend to everyone and as one serious avid golfer. True to one of his favorite expressions, “Life is not a dress rehearsal”, Curtis lived his days to the fullest surrounded by the people he loved. Services will be held on Friday, the 4th of September at twelve o’clock, noon at the Trinity Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd., 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540 or https://events.AutismSpeaks.org/tributes/curtisbrown.
