

Dan Brown Whigham, Sr., 76 of Atlanta, Georgia, died August 27, 2024 after a hard fought battle in the hospital. Dan was born on October 2nd , 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Hapeville High School, Dan went on to graduate from Georgia State University where he met the love of his life, Rebekah (Beka) Crockett. Dan and Beka got married and remained married for over 54 years. Dan served in the National Guard and then embarked on his lifelong career in insurance and financial management. Dan loved working with people and the relationships he shared meant the world to him. Over his entire life, Dan’s faith in the Lord was at the heart of everything he did. He led Bible studies at Second Ponce DeLeón Church and later in his life at First Baptist Church of Roswell and at Cherokee Country Club. Dan enjoyed reading, writing heartfelt notes to others, spending time and being a mentor to his grandchildren, serving the local community through a variety of mission work, and of course the game of golf. Dan’s enthusiasm and ability to befriend others was a joy to those who knew him. Dan truly loved life and brought an energy, smile, and joy to the room every chance he could get.
Mr. Whigham is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebekah C. Whigham; daughter, Elizabeth Sharpton; son, Dan Brown Whigham, Jr. (Kristine); grandchildren, Robert and Matthew Sharpton, Danny, Taylor and Graeme Whigham; and brothers, Robert S. Whigham, Jr (Gale), Roger C. Whigham (Jackie).
In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to The Missions at First Baptist Church of Roswell.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 3 to 5 o’clock at The Cherokee Town and Country Club, 665 Hightower Trail, Sandy Springs, GA 30350
