Dorothy Burgess Bush Sasnett, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, January 26th. Born in Greenville, SC, though a longtime resident of Buckhead, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bolling H. Sasnett, Jr. and her daughter, Susan Bush Gerth. She is survived by her daughter, Lane Bush Long, her grandchildren, Andrew L. Long, T. Nelson Long, Fraser Gerth and Hollis Gerth, her great-grandchildren, T. Pennington Long and Taliaferro A. Long, her sister Frances B. Turner, and brother James M. Burgess. Dot was one of the longest standing members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where she worked and volunteered. She attended North Fulton High School and The High Museum School of Art. She will be greatly missed by her large family and friends, who will always remember her for her Southern style and charm and for her love of her church. Service in her memory will be held in the Wilson Chapel at Peachtree Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 1st at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Dorothy B. Sasnett's name.
