Elizabeth (Betty) Cook Carson passed away on February 16, 2011 after a 14-year illness - Alzheimers. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Wilbur E. Carson, and her 2 daughter's and son in-law Nancy Carson and Patty Carson Bates, and Phillip J. Bates, all of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Ann Elizabeth Dean, and Alexander Lawrence Dean. Betty was a native of Atlanta and an active member of St. John United Methodist Church. She had a successful career as a legal secretary, supporting several attorneys in Atlanta. She began as a court reporter in Germany during the Korean War. The viewing is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel 173 Allen Road Ne, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 (404-851-9900). Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. John United Methodist Church, at 550 Mount Paran Road, Atlanta, GA 30327 with Dr. Brent Ward officiating.
