

Mr. Floyd D. Shelley, 84, of Sandy Springs died peacefully Tuesday, the 3rd of December 2013 at his residence. Born in Emigsville, PA, he was a graduate of North York High School “Class of 1947” and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State. He stared his working career as a salesman later retiring as CEO for Habasit Belting Corp. Floyd was an avid traveler and sportsman, including playing semi pro baseball, and loved golfing at the Rivermont Country Club. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Dodie Shelley; daughters, Deborah Griffin of Roswell, Dianne McClure of Woodstock, Elizabeth Freshman of Albuquerque, NM; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons; brother, John D. M. Shelley of York, PA; sister, Berdella Zuse of Guilford, CT; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating Floyd’s life will be held Saturday the 7th of December at eleven o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Friday evening from six until eight o’clock Friday evening at H. M.
