George Livney lived a passionate and full life. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. George was born in Hungary. His journeys took him to Israel where he served in the air force from 1949-1959. He then immigrated to the United States with his wife, Jackie and firstborn child, becoming a citizen shortly thereafter. George loved his adopted country, staunchly supported Israel, and was foremost dedicated to his family. Throughout his career as a systems engineer, George worked across the country, moving his family from coast to coast. He was a larger-than-life hero to all who had the good fortune to know him. George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jackie, and by his three children, Tricia and Bill Hirsch of Sandy Springs, GA; Patrick and Stephanie Livney of Winnetka, IL; and Roland and Karla Livney of Highland Park, IL, along with grandchildren, Jeremy, Alex, and Derek Hirsch, Becca Livney, and Sophia, Jessica, and Alec Livney. He is also survived by his sister, Viola in Budapest, and his sister-in-law, Viviane and Laurent Bossard in Paris. Services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17th, at 3:30 pm at The Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy N.W. Atlanta, GA 30328. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at The Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park.
