Jamella Cook Norman

Jamella Cook Norman, 91, of Dunwoody, died February 28, 2021. Born January 10, 1930 in Bamberg , SC, she was the daughter of James Bethune Cook, Sr. and Ella (VanOrsdell) Cook. Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harold Leonard Norman and is survived by her sons, Harold Leonard Norman, Jr. (Nancy), Daniel Phillip Norman (Mary Beth) John Gibson Norman (Kim); daughters, Mary Kathryn Griffith, Julia Anne Norman; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, James B. Cook, Jr. Jay, as she was known, enjoyed gardening, painting, birds, dogs (particularly miniature schnauzers) and summer trips with her family to Garden City Beach, SC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road Ne, Sandy Springs, GA.
