Linda (Ruth) Magill Neff, 71, of Lilburn passed away on Saturday January 1, 2022. She took her last peaceful breaths at home wearing her favorite colored top and cherished ‘Oma’ necklace, with her two sons holding her hands. The exact way she would have wanted it.
Linda was born in Portland, Maine on August 18, 1950 to the late Robert and Ruth (Phillips) Magill.
She earned progressive degrees from Deering High School, University of Maine and Georgia State University.
A lifelong educator, Linda taught various language and literacy subjects in primary education for 49 years. Her students gave her energy and purpose, so much that she continued to teach while undergoing cancer treatment and into her final months. The impact of her professional contributions on all the children she taught and colleagues she treasured is immeasurable.
Linda is survived by her sons Graham (Kristin) and Jordan Neff; grandsons Grady and twins Emmett and Nolan; and Aunt Dorothy (Magill) Carroll. Linda cherished her relatives and was likewise adored by her large extended family. She is survived by many cousins, relatives and countless friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Lee Frances Magill.
A graveside service will take place at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA on Wednesday January 5th at 10:00a. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coaching for Literacy organization (www.coachingforliteracy.org/donate).
