Marie Fitch Mahoney

Marie F. Mahoney of Sandy Springs, GA; formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC and North Haven, CT; entered into rest on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late William B. Mahoney. Marie was born in Hamden, CT on August 19, 1927; the daughter of the late Harold F. Fitch and Phyllis Mastracchio Fitch. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold F. Fitch, Jr. (Janet) of Hamden, CT, and sister, Phyllis Pesticci of Hamden, CT.

She worked in the Records Department of the North Haven, CT Police Department and retired in 1996. Marie was a loving wife and incredible mother who made holidays and every day special. She was a wonderful and loyal friend to all those who were lucky enough to know her.

She is survived by her (2) daughters; Karen A. Mahoney of Guilford, CT and Tracy A. Grant (Tony) of Louisville, KY; her (2) sons; Dr. William B. Mahoney, Jr. (Viviana) of Atlanta, GA and Brian T. Mahoney (Sally) of Palm Coast, FL. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, Sean, Kyla, Bryce, Aidan and Selma; her nieces, and family member Dr. Laura Gonzalez of Atlanta, GA.

A memorial mass will be held on January 27, 2017 at 12:00pm at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Drive, Sandy Springs, GA. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden, CT at a later date.
