

Mrs. Mary Louise Grant, 94, passed away on November 10, 2012 at Hospice Atlanta. Mrs. Grant was born in Miami, FL, daughter of the late C.R. Brelsford and Hester S. Brelsford. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Clarence K. Grant and brother C. Rolland Brelsford. She is survived by her brother, Robert L. (Glennice) Brelsford of Johnston, IA, daughters: Jackie (Clyde) Mynatt, Gayle (George) Hynds, Janace (Bill) Grigsby of Kingsport, TN. Her grandchildren are Ken Mynatt, Cheryl (Kevin) Wyckoff, Jeff (Melissa) Mynatt of Canton, GA, Keith (Emily) Hynds of Birmingham, AL, Greg (Alison) Hynds of Greenville, SC, Charles (Erin) Grigsby of N. Augusta, SC., Sarah (Chris) Cottrell of Canton, GA. Also there are 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Grant enjoyed her life to the fullest. Her first priority was her family followed by a desire to be active in community service. She touched many lives through her numerous friendships. She was an active member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church for over 65 years where she was a member of Aliae Sunday School Class. She was an original volunteer at the Family Life Center for over 10 years. North Side Woman’s Club honored her with a lifetime membership. As Safety Chairman for the club, she served on the GA Safety Council for 24 years. During her 65 years of membership in the Girl Scouts she served as troop leader, camping trainer, and trainer for new leaders. She was awarded the “Thanks” badge in recognition of her many hours of service. As a member of the Trefoil Guild she joined with other formerly active Girl Scouts to enjoy wonderful fellowship, fun filled camping trips, and opportunities to raise money to fund “Camperships” for girls needing financial assistance to attend camp. Her participation in Chapter N, PEO was a special part of her life for 29 years. A Memorial Service will be Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2:00p.m. at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 with Dr. Charles Qualls officiating. The family will greet friends at the close of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, 2715 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 355 Trane Lane, Knoxville, TN 37919, or your favorite charity.
