

Richard H. Negus, 78 of Dunwoody died December 17, 2015. Mr. Negus was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Kenneth Davis Negus and Hope Hartwell Negus. He was a graduate of Norwich University, and received his Master’s in Business Administration in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1960, Mr. Negus married his loving wife of 55 years, Peggy Lou Negus. Mr. Negus served in the 2nd Armored Division of the Army at Fort Knox and Fort Hood prior to joining General Foods and then Borden, Inc. During his long career with Borden, Mr. Negus served as Controller and General Manager of Wise Snacks. Following retirement from Wise Snacks, Mr. Negus became adviser to the largest Wise Snacks distributor, Lorenz Schneider / Yorkshire Foods, on Long Island, New York. He also became a Certified Public Accountant and was an active member in the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Negus enjoyed working outdoors and undertaking construction projects. Mr. Negus was a devoted husband and father whose passion above everything else was his family. He was more proud of his children than his own accomplishments, and his greatest joy was supporting his children in achieving their own academic and professional goals and success. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Negus; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Mary Negus of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and David and Suzie Negus of Dunwoody, Georgia; daughter, Donna Crawford of Dunwoody, Georgia; and grandchildren, Mitchell, Andrew, William, Cari, Anna and Sean Negus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Marist School, 7390 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30319. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church with The Rev. Joel Konzen as The Celebrant.
