Richard Ellis “Dick” Whitaker, beloved son of the late Dr. and Mrs. William George Whitaker, Jr. passed away peacefully at Hospice Atlanta on Thursday, November 30. Dick was born in Valdosta, GA on January 31, 1946. He had a complication of child birth which became a terminal life long illness. We thank the Lord that he suffered very little and brought much joy to his family and extended friends. Our family is very grateful for the excellent long term care he received at Annandale at Suwanee and Hospice Atlanta. Dick is survived by his 3 loving brothers, Dr. William George Whitaker, III (Margaret), Dr. Julian McKey Whitaker (Connie) and Robert Bryant Whitaker (Karen); and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
