Robert Bob James Outtrim

Robert James “Bob” Outtrim passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his residence after a long battle with diabetes. He was born in Rome, New York on February 14, 1929, the son of Fredrick and Emily Outtrim one of ten children. He was predeceased by his loving wife and soul mate Theodora “Teddi” Swistak of West Branch, NY, brothers Richard, Edward and sister Muriel. Bob is survived by his son Mark Outtrim, daughter-in-law Sharyn Outtrim, granddaughter Lucy Outtrim of Mableton, GA, siblings Thomas Outtrim Westernville, NY, Elizabeth Murphy, Rome, NY Jane Nonnemaker, Reseda, CA, Larry Outtrim, Sahuarita, AZ, Linda Sebourn, Millington, TN, Paul Outtrim, Boonville, NY, numerous loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He served proudly with the Army 7th Air Force at the end of WWII and recalled to serve in Korea. His brother Richard a Marine was killed in action serving with honor in Korea. His love for traveling kept him moving with stops in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Los Angeles, CA, Washington, DC, and finally settling in Atlanta, GA. He worked as a Stagehand/Propmaster for I.A.T.S.E. Hollywood Local #44 working on such hits as I Love Lucy, Combat, Mutiny on the Bounty, My Fair Lady, and How the West Was Won. He also worked for twenty years as Area Manager for Sho-Aids, ECC and finally retiring at EIS in the support services area of the convention trade show industry. He was beloved by everyone he came in contact with, known for his empathy for all and great sense of humor. “A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge” - Thomas Carlyle. Memphis, TN 38105. A Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10 o’clock at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4465 Northside Dr, NW, Atlanta, GA 30327. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
