

Roger K. Calabrese, 78 of Roswell died June 14, 2015. Roger was born in Denver, CO, in 1936 and grew up in El Monte, CA. He was the second and final survivor of four sons. At the request of President Eisenhower, he joined the U.S. Army in 1959 and was then stationed in Boston where he met his wife, Marion. Because he needed a car, he answered an ad in the newspaper and took a job at AVCO Finance. Thirty-five years later he retired from AVCO as the Vice President of Consumer Finance. Roger enjoyed Thoroughbred racing, golf, FSU football and travel. He was the proud grandfather of nine and entertained them with his unique sense of humor, which made him beloved by everyone who knew him. Mr. Calabrese is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marion Calabrese; sons, Roger K. Calabrese, (Jeanne), Michael Calabrese (Stephanie); daughter, Christine Curtin (Michael); grandchildren, Danielle Calabrese, Jack, Alex, Sam and Caiti Curtin, Sydney, Haley, Ryann and Matthew Calabrese; and mother, Louise Calabrese. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. A memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 19, 2015, at 10 o’clock at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Dr., Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Following the Mass, the family will have a reception in the Stapleton Center prior to interment of the ashes at Arlington Memorial Park.
