Seaborn “Skip” Wright, Jr., age 81, of Atlanta, passed away February 3, 2025. Skip was born in Brooklyn, NY, where his father, a Naval Aviator, was stationed during World War II. After the war, Skip and his parents, the late Seaborn and Emma Renn Wright, Sr., moved to Atlanta where his father was born and raised. He graduated from Darlington School in Rome, GA, and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After college, Skip returned to Atlanta and began a career in real estate and home building that would span more than 40 years. Aside from constructing houses, some of Skip’s favorite things were building and racing cars, boating, antique engines, and being a great uncle and a friend to all animals. Skip was preceded in death by his brother, Miller Hutchins Wright. He leaves behind two nieces, Clair “Ashley” Wright of Brevard, NC, and Jennie Hutchins Wright, of Washington, DC.
A graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA, on Monday, February 17, at 11 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, Skip asked that donations be sent to Darlington School’s annual fund, darlingtonschool.org, 1014 Cave Spring Rd., Rome, GA 30161.
