Shawn X. Scherer, 60 of Norcross, died peacefully in his sleep July 17, 2015. Born and raised in Ironton, OH, Shawn was a passionate Ohio State Buckeyes fan and had the pleasure of watching them win the national championship this year. Shawn became an avid golfer while living in South Florida for 21 years and played with the Hard Labor crew and with his wife regularly. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ellen Scherer; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Cathy Scherer; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Woody Hall, Shala and Chris Black. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association and/or St. Joseph Catholic School, 912 South 6th St.,Ironton, OH 45638. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11 o’clock with the family receiving friends beginning at 10 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
