

Shirley Elizabeth (Betsy) Mitchell Freeman was born on March 29, 1971. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her master’s and post-master’s degrees from West Georgia. Elizabeth was a licensed psychologist. Her compassion was shown by her time spent in New Orleans helping Hurricane Katrina victims. She was also responsible for developing the mental health program for children within the Cobb County Public School System. Elizabeth’s love of people, animals, nature and art were evident in every aspect of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by husband Pierce Michael Freeman, mother Shirley Parker Mitchell, father Harry Royce Mitchell, brother Tad Mitchell (Nancy), sister Leanne Mitchell Goines (Clay), nieces Elizabeth and Lauren Goines, nephew Parker Mitchell, a loving extended family and dogs Pierre and CiCi. The Family will receive visitors from 12:00-12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3417 Roswell Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30305. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Kellett Chapel.
