

Born in his parents’ home in Oconee, Illinois on September 2, 1939, he attended Pana High School where he met his wife of 56 years, Linda, and gained his Business Degree from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. After college, Tom was in the Army Reserves for four years. He had a long and successful career working for several well-known organizations such as Staley’s Grocery Stores and Ross Laboratories. He is best remembered for starting Kids II, Inc., a well-known global baby products company.
Beyond his successful career, Tom was a loving and giving husband, father and friend to all, consistently putting others before himself. Additionally, he was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Tamra Leslie, he is survived by his wife, Linda Gunnigle, daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Robert Di Meglio, sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Lisa Gunnigle, Grant and Rhoda Gunnigle, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Judy Gunnigle, Bob and Sharon Gunnigle, sister, Sally Perry, his ten grandchildren, Morgan, Stephen, Jordan, Mark, Claire, Isabella, Aidan, Savannah, Thomas, and Maggie, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be conducted on Tuesday, the 23rd of August at eleven o’clock in the morning at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
