

Vernell B. Osborne went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 13, 2011 after a long illness. Mrs. Osborne is the daughter of the late Ollie Brightwell. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 48 years, Emory W. Osborne. She is survived by her husband, Frank Flanders, her children, Sheila J. Osborne, Randy W. Osborne, and Steven E. Osborne; and her grandchildren David Osborne, Steven Osborne, and Courtney Osborne, and her sister, Betty Brightwell. She had many friends with whom she enjoyed golf, travel, and entertaining.
Mrs. Osborne grew up in Atlanta, attended O’Keefe High School, and worked as a bank teller upon completion of her education. After her marriage to Emory Osborne, she became a dedicated homemaker and loving mother. When Mr. Osborne started his business in 1952, Tuxedo Glass & Mirror Co., Inc., she worked with him to build the business which was later turned over to their son, Steve, who is the President today. In later years, Mrs. Osborne went on to work with her eldest son, Randy, to establish his own company, Glass Stream, Inc. Some years after the death of Mr. Osborne, she married Frank Flanders.
H. M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home at 173 Allen Road, N. E. in Sandy Springs, GA is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and the service will be at 11 a.m. at the Patterson Chapel with interment at Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
