

Wilbur E. “Will” Carson, loving husband, beloved father, successful Atlanta businessman, and faithful servant of his church, passed very peacefully Thursday, October 6. Atlanta, GA native, “Will” Carson (1926-2016) was a Georgia Tech Graduate with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a proud graduate of Boys High in Atlanta. He served twice in the military, first training in the US Army Airforce, then for the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. Will Carson was well known as Founding Father and President of W.E. Carson Associates, a highly regarded IT (Information Technology) consulting firm reaching the status of the largest privately owned IT consulting Atlanta firm just before it was sold in 1998. Will Carson was known for his dedication to business ethics and treating people with great respect and generosity. Before starting W.E. Carson Associates, he had a long successful career at IBM after a great start at Ford Motor Co. He was a faithful servant to St John Methodist Church for over 47 years. His service included chairman of the Board, Sunday School President, numerous committees, and generous financial support. His strong faith in God and Christian values guided his life, his relationships, and his work. He is well known by family and friends as a loving husband (62 yrs to “Betty” Carson). He is proudly survived by his two daughters, Nancy Carson (married to Dr. Steven Lee), and Patty Carson (married to Phillip Bates), and his granddaughter, Ann Dean and grandson, Alex Dean (married to Jennifer Bailey Dean). Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, October 12 at St. John Methodist Church, 550 Mount Paran Rd., Atlanta, GA 30327. Viewing and Visitation will be held Tues, Oct 11 from 6:00-8:00 pm at H.M. Patterson & Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
