
William T. Blamire went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 4th, 2012. He was born in Rochester, NY, November 21st 1924, and was 88 years old. Bill served in the U. S. Army and after discharge moved to Buffalo, NY where he joined the RCA Distributing Corp. and later became Vice President. He was transferred to Atlanta in 1973, became President of Southco Sales Corporation, the RCA distributor for Georgia and the Carolinas. While living in Buffalo he was also President of the Buffalo Sales and Marketing Executive. In Atlanta he helped by serving on the Peach Bowl committee for many years, and later became President when he supported the Georgia Lighthouse for the Blind. Upon retirement moved to Bradenton, FL where he spent eight years, moving back to Atlanta in 2001. Bill is survived by his wife Shirley of 64 years, and three children, William T. Blamire, Jr. (Tom) and wife Linda of Atlanta, Robert J. Blamire and wife Melissa of Newnan, and Susan Blamire Stark and husband Mike of Atlanta, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and nieces, Elizabeth Sterrett and Bob of Rochester, NY and Harriet Hellman and Sam of Water Mill, Long Island, NY. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday the 9th of December at two o’clock at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Sunday afternoon from one o’clock until the hour of service at H.M Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, 404-851-9900. A private family inurnment will take place at Arlington Memorial Park. The family requests no flowers and prefers that contributions be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, 1501 N. W. 9th Ave/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1491.
