

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou, and his son Alan Rozon, Jr. Alan is survived by his daughter, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Alan grew up in Florida and enjoyed fishing the intracoastal waterways and St. John’s River. As a young boy and into his teenage years he was a fishing guide, a deckhand and a private yacht pilot. Because of his knowledge of the river he was selected by the Army Corps of Engineers to assist in placing waterway markers on the St. John’s River in Seminole County - many of which stand today.
Alan attended Carlisle Military School and Clemson University in South Carolina. His numerous military achievements include Infantry Unit Commander, Master Parachutist, Air Operations Officer, Chinese Mandarin Interpreter, Special Forces Officer, Commanding Officer, Tank Unit Commander, and Nuclear Weapons Specialist. Alan is a highly decorated veteran who received significant medals, awards, and honors over a 20 year military career.
He met and married his sweetheart Mary Lou while stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. While stationed throughout the United States and overseas Alan, Mary Lou and their two children had many interesting life experiences, including other cultures when living in Japan and Germany.
After retiring from the Army, Alan settled in central Florida with his family. He was hired to oversee the development of the Central Florida Zoo and served as the director. Later, Alan served on the Seminole County Board of Adjustments. His last profession was a Seminole County Probation Officer.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Westview Baptist Church, 4100 HE Thomas Jr Pkwy, Sanford, Florida.
Visitation will be at the church from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, followed by the funeral service.
Internment immediately afterward at Oaklawn Cemetery, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL, which is a 5 minute drive from the church.
