Brenda Lee McClure of Heathrow, Florida passed away on Palm Sunday March 29 at the age of 83. She was born on October 2, 1942, in St Thomas, Ontario, Canada where she grew up in a very small rural environment with lots of relatives, some of whom had family farms where they raised their own food, milk, and meat. She lived with, was raised by and nurtured by her beloved grandparents, Dee Dee and Guga Langs. Dee Dee especially imparted her Christian faith, moral grounding, strength, and independence, which gave Brenda what she needed to set out on her own at age 19 to leave Canada and find her way to Florida, via Detroit, eventually becoming a proud naturalized US citizen.
Brenda was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom until Craig went away to UCF. Possessive of a strong work ethic, native intelligence and common sense, Brenda ventured into the local business world, managing a business office complex, and at 60 years old, becoming a real estate agent, notably winning Rookie of the Year and Chairman’s Club every year over her 10-year span.
Brenda had a number of passions, starting with having a house full of her precious kitties. She played competitive mixed doubles tennis for 30 years. She loved studying the Bible with the Women's Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for over 20 years. She relished cruising every year, especially those times the sons and grandson would join, and she loved spending hours in the yard, weeding, digging in the dirt, and just being outside.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Guga and Dee Dee Langs.
She is survived by her husband Robert Leonard McClure, sons, Michael Craig Williams and Robert Brandon McClure, and grandson, Robert Gray McClure, all of Sanford.
A Memorial Service will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771, US, on April 23, 2026, with Visitation at 10am and the Memorial Service at 11am
