Charles Claude Simpson, 82, of Sanford, FL died Friday, March 13, 2015. Born in Maryville, TN, Mr. Simpson was the son of the late Lloyd and Irma Simpson. He worked for the CIA for 32 years and received the Silver Service Medallion. After retiring from the CIA he spent over 30 years serving in the ministry as a Christian educator and Pastor. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. Mr. Simpson was a member of Palmetto Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth B. Simpson; and a brother, Stephen Simpson. He is survived by 3 sons, Bill Simpson (Sheila), David Simpson (Cathy), and Andrew Simpson (Lisa); a daughter, Sandra Cooper (Paul); a sister, Pamela Huskey; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, March 20, 2015 at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home-Oaklawn Chapel. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Simpson will be held 11am Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Palmetto Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Park Cemetery.
