

Cletus Karl Lysinger, 84, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away on March 13, 2024. Karl grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where he graduated high school. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Detroit Institute of Technology and a Master of Education from The University of Toledo. Additionally, he studied Real Estate Law at Davis Junior College of Business. Karl proudly served in the US Air Force. He worked as an Administrative Consultant for the Division of Special Education in the Toledo, Ohio School System. Moving to Germany in 1982 meeting his late wife, Elizabeth A. Bueschen. Together, they dedicated 33 years to the US Department of Defense School System, spending 14 years in Germany and 19 years in Okinawa, Japan. They were passionate about their work in working with the field of education. Karl is fondly remembered by the DODDS school staff for his positive and caring leadership. He was instrumental in introducing innovative teaching methods in Special Education and developing a new Special Education program. Karl's second home was with his students, and he always cherished the lifelong friendships he made.
Known for his infectious smile and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Karl had many interests. He loved music of all genres, dancing, entertaining, automobiles, golfing, gardening, cycling, art, theater, and traveling. He had a special affection for dogs and enjoyed giving treats to neighborhood pets.
Karl is survived by his wife, Wanda, two stepsons, one stepdaughter, seven step-grandchildren, cousins: Penny Moyer, Rick Lysinger (Becky) , Tim Lysinger (Michelle)and their families, nephew Dr. Robert Atkins (Laura)and family. He was Pre-deceased by his Mother, Juanita Lysinger Father, Carroll Lysinger, and cousin Patty Lysinger. Karl’s memory will always be cherished by his family and many friends. He is deeply missed.
