Born on March 24, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, David dedicated his life to education and service. He earned his doctorate from Argosy University and went on to teach at several local colleges and universities, where he inspired countless students with his knowledge and passion.
On May 1, 1998, David married the love of his life, Carolyn. Together they shared many cherished memories and a deep commitment to family.
David was also a proud member of the Civil Air Patrol and remained deeply committed to the value of teaching throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Pirtle and Katherine Flotmann.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; daughters, Erin Pirtle and Lauren Sanchez; and his treasured grandchildren, Christopher, Aria, Adrianna, Nicholas and David.
He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering dedication to education and family.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday August 16, 2025 at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel; 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford Florida 32771.
