

Deirdre Cerasa (née Hession), age 77, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in Lake Mary, Florida. Born on November 19, 1948, in Cranston, Rhode Island, Deirdre’s life was marked by deep devotion to her family and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew her. Deirdre shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Donald.Together they built a loving home and raised three children: Karen Dotson and her husband Eric of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Diama Rinaldi and her husband William of Lake Villa, Illinois; and Michael Cerasa of Chicago, Illinois. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren—Eric, Alex, and Colin Dotson; Rocco and Dominic Rinaldi; and Kennedy, Natalie, and Connor Cerasa—each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also remembered with love by her brothers Michael, William, and Thomas Hession and many nieces and nephews. Deirdre was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Helen Hession, in-laws, Serafino and Olimpia Cerasa as well as her sister, Sally Newhouse and sister in-law, Maryann Baadj.
Throughout her life, Deirdre found happiness for simple pleasures, She had a passion for singing that filled many moments with music and warmth. The beach was one of her favorite places – a setting where she found peace and joy. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family. Whether gathered for holidays or everyday moments, those times were the heart of her world. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Deirdre will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and continue to inspire kindness and joy in their lives.
In accordance with Deirdre’s wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of life.
