Ellen Wignall Barker

Ellen moved to Oakmonte Village in Lake Mary, FL in 2020 to be closer to her children. She was deeply loved and cared for by her family and the Oakmonte staff in the final years of her life.

She was born September 5, 1944 to Kenneth Knowles Wignall and Carmel Sellars Wignall in Tyler, TX.

Survivors include her loving children Darrell Robert Faber and wife, Cheryl, of Land O’Lakes, FL, Karen Faber Williams and husband, Steve, of Longwood, FL, and step daughter Hannah Carey of South Burlington, VT.

Ellen was affectionately known as Grandmother to her grandchildren, Grant Robert Williams and Luke Bradley Williams of Longwood, FL, and Cameron Robert Faber and Peyton Ryan Faber, of Land O’Lakes, FL.

She is also survived by her brother, Philip Andrew Wignall and wife, Debbie of Newport News, VA and niece Jennifer and nephew Eric and their families.

Ellen was a gifted elementary school teacher for over 40 years and greatly admired by her students, their parents, and school staff. She loved her family, her dog, Toby, the color pink, music, dancing, boating, and the beach. She was always ready to give or receive a hug.

She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and family and friends.

A memorial service and burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lake Mary, FL with the Reverend Jeremy Bergstrom officiating.
