

Dr. Erik Jon Stumpf, Md, 48, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 in his residence. Erik was born on December 3, 1968 in Buffalo, New York; the son of Dr. John and Donna Stumpf. He completed medical school in Buffalo, then moved to Florida in 1994 for his residency at Halifax Medical Center’s Family Medicine. Erik married his wife Amy on April 28, 2006. He worked as a family physician before transitioning to administrative roles, which eventually led him to Blue Cross Blue Shield. From there he moved to Prestige Health Choice, all the while volunteering as staff physician at Shepard’s Hope. Erik enjoyed skiing, boating, golf and running. He served on multiple missions groups. Erik and his family attend Lakeside Fellowship united Methodist Church in Sanford.
Erik is survived by his wife Amy, three children, sons Aaron Luke Stumpf, Ethan Lyle Stumpf, and daughter Allison Brooke Stumpf. He is also survived by his parents, brothers David Edwin Stumpf and wife Andrea of Memphis, Tennessee, and Daniel Norman Stumpf and wife Donna of Nashville, Tennessee.
A memorial service honoring Erik will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 am at Lakeside Fellowship United Methodist, 305 Orange Blvd, Sanford, Florida 32771. Burial will be in Oaklawn Park Cemetery, Sanford. Erik’s family is establishing a fund in his honor to help others. Donation information will be made available on this site as soon as possible. His family suggests donations in lieu of flowers please.
