September 30, 1934 – April 23, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Ciuba, beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Frank passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024. Frank was a devoted husband to his wife, Sandi, for 43 years, and a loving father to his three children, Jeff, Doug, and Jennifer. He was so proud of his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a man of great character, known for his strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. Frank was born on September 30, 1934 in Irvington, New Jersey to John Ciuba and Agnes Ziobro. He was the youngest of four children, one brother, John, and two sisters, Wanda and Florence. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his sister, Wanda. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, son, Jeffrey (Cindy), son, Douglas (Lea), daughter, Jennifer Pelz (Stan), seven grandchildren, Caroline Temple (Dan), Matthew Davis Ciuba, Mary-Catherine Chitwood (Ryan), Hunter Davis Ciuba, Carsyn Page (Miller), Chandler Ciuba, and Nathan Pelz, and his great-grandchildren, George and Sam Temple, James Page, Reid Chitwood, and Jon Davis Chitwood as well as his sister, Florence Kropilak, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank is a veteran and patriot who served in the Army. He attended Rutgers University and was a Kappa Sigma Alumni. His early career as a sales manager for Anchor Hocking, and General Manager for Mead Packaging, provided him with many opportunities to travel and meet executives from some of the nation’s largest companies. Frank was always thoughtful, positive, and encouraging and a man of his word. He holds a stellar reputation among his colleagues as a man of integrity and honor. Frank and his friend and colleague, Jim Huckaby, eventually bought the plastics division from Mead Packaging, and were successful in maintaining and enhancing their relationships and reputations in the marketplace. Frank loved his work, and was at his best when arriving at solutions for his customers. Even after retirement and until days before he passed away, he continued to talk fondly of his business transactions and the wonderful friends he made along the way.
Frank loved politics, travel, baseball, college football (especially the Georgia Bulldogs), and fishing. He loved Saturday night dinners with friends, Sunday brunches, and times spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He earned a reputation as that “big kid.” He was a great storyteller with a vivid and boundless imagination, which delighted his grandchildren. He took great pride in every accomplishment achieved by his children as well as his grandchildren.
Frank’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his brilliant mind, quick wit, and his ability to make everyone feel loved and welcome. Although Frank is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held on May 15, 2024 at 4:00PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or Friends of Abused Children in his memory.
