AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Geraldine L Pedicini

22 juillet 1929 – 5 septembre 2022
Avis de décès de Geraldine L Pedicini
AUX SOINS DE

Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel & Oaklawn Cemetery

Geraldine “Gerry” Pedicini of Altamonte Springs passed away Sept. 5, 2022. She was 93.

Born in Boston to Gerald and Winona Peters, Gerry grew up in a close-knit family in Randolph, Massachusetts. She was the eldest of five siblings. As a child, she was affectionately nicknamed “Baby Snooks.”

After high school, she found her “calling” as a switchboard operator for the New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. in Randolph and Canton, Massachusetts. There she made many friends and memories. In fact, Gerry met her husband Peter when she answered a misrouted telephone call. Gerry worked for Ma Bell from the late 1940s through the early 1960s.

She and her husband later ran a millinery shop called Gerri Peters in Watertown, Massachusetts, before she devoted herself to being a full-time wife and mother. She moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1978 and later to Central Florida to be closer to family. Gerry had a gregarious personality and was known for her sense of humor and sympathetic nature. She made friends quickly and was often a confidante to people who were going through difficult times.

She loved birds and plants, shopping, socializing, visiting Disney, and spending time with family, especially her granddaughter. She enjoyed sending and receiving cards for all kinds of occasions and never missed a friend’s or family member’s birthday.

Gerry is survived by her daughter Sandra, son-in-law Martin and granddaughter Mia; sisters, Marjorie Gordon of Springfield, Kentucky; Jean Whynot of Sanbornton, New Hampshire; and Barbara Pochay of Carver, Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter and brother Robert.

In lieu of flowers, please make charitable donations in Gerry’s name to the Humane Society of the United States.
