

Harriet Mixon was a lifelong resident of Lake Mary since 1936. She was one of founders of Lake Mary. She was known as the “Avon Lady” and “Squirrel Lady”. Harriet sold Avon for 55 years; many of those years were door to door. She babysat for many children after school. She was a wildlife rehabilitator, raising squirrels and raccoons and whatever anyone brought to her. There were always squirrels running through the house looking for nuts. She lived on Lakeview Ave when it was a dirt road. The City of Lake Mary purchased the property in 1988 and she moved her house and squirrels across the street. The city recently purchased that property for a parking lot. She was a member of the Lake Mary Prebyterian church. She was preceed in death by her parents, Gladys Stewart and Harry Childs and her sister, Frances Bucklew Jeffries, and her brother Joseph Coling (Rusty), her sons, Ronald Mixon and William Mixon. Surived by daughters, Wanda Stumbo, Palakta, and Judy Harris, Sanford. 10 grandchildren: Dennis Mixon, Duane Bowen, Cindy Gordon, David Jeffrey, Kristopher (Teake) Stumbo, Olivia Clifton, Jared Mixon, Tyler Mixon, Robert Harris and Jolene Harris. 15 Great Grandchildren: Madison Mixon, Alex Bowen, Ashley Bowen, Michael Gordon, Katie Gordon, Douglas Gordon, Kristopher Jeffrey, Kymberly Jeffrey, Kayla Stumbo, Trenton Stumbo, Stella Clifton, Ryland Mixon, Maxx Harris, Robert (RJ) Harris and Cadon Polen. 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Fregga Jeffrey and Merrick Jeffrey
