James "Tim" Timothy Bettis

James Timothy Bettis of Geneva, Florida passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2021. Tim was born March 24th, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN. He was loved and cherished by many people including Margo Bettis, his wife of 51 years, his daughter Kate Bettis Saunders, granddaughter Aidyn Saunders, son and daughter-in-law TJ and Heidi Bettis and their children, Elizabeth, Anna, Maria, Claire, Daniel, Emily, Lillian and Eva Bettis, and his heart daughter and son-in law, Clementina Peraza and Freddy Castejon, their children Emilia and Federico, and also by his parents, Martha Ann Bettis and James Bettis, his sister Susan Bettis and her husband Mike Cabat, and daughter Ashley Bettis Lockwood.

He thought outside the box, was brilliant in business, and had a huge grasp of history and how it affects the present and future. He loved reading, especially about history and current events and had the ability to bring what he learned down to a practical level. He had a great sense of humor which he readily shared with his friends, family and particularly with his grandchildren. The puns flowed constantly and some of the kids eventually bested their grandfather in their use.

Tim’s greatest earthly joy was his family and time spent with us all was a major priority for him. Tim’s greatest eternal joy is knowing that he belongs to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Monday, October 18, 2021 at Saint Andrew’s Chapel, 5525 Wayside Dr., Sanford, FL. 32771
