Joaquin Tomas Becerra, 80, of Sanford, FL, passed peacefully from this life on May 27, 2018. Jack was born on September 22, 1937 in Regla, Cuba to the late Joaquin and Irene Becerra. Jack came to America as a young child, arriving in New York with his parents. The family lived in New York for a few years then settled in Miami, Florida.
While in high school, Jack met a beautiful young girl, Connie Hudnall. They dated through high school and married on June 28, 1958. Together they had four wonderful children.
Proud to be an American citizen, Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1957. He served faithfully in the Marines at Opalocka Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida before being transferred to Homestead Air Force Base. Additionally, Jack served as an Active Reservist in the United States Air Force. After actively serving for approximately 2 years, his wing was activated and transferred to Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville, South Carolina. He spent a total of 6 years in the United States Armed Forces. Jack was very proud of that accomplishment. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Jack acquired his Commercial Pilot’s License with instrument rating, as his goal was to become a commercial pilot. However, Jack always loved cars and ultimately pursued his dream of owning his own dealership. He owned and operated 6 separate dealerships in Florida and Tennessee as well as a van conversion plant and an advertising company. He was a busy man who loved his work and would fly himself to his dealerships to make sure they were run with honesty, integrity and the utmost professional care. During his time of operating the dealerships, he met the love of his life, his wife Randi. Jack and Randi were business partners, and best friends. Jack was an amazing man with a one of a kind sense of humor and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Joaquin and Irene Becerra. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of over 34 years, Randi, his children; Linda, Tina (Larry), Cindy, and Tony (Suzy), his grandchildren; Ryan (Sarah), Jessica (Wes), Christen, Brittany, Connor, Amelia, Natalie, Jason, Justin, and Jaclyn, and great-grandchildren; Kynlee, Harlee, and Justus.
