Kathryn Rose Mues, 92, of Lake Mary, FL passed onto the loving hands of our Heavenly Father, our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Lake Mary, FL. Kathryn was born on the 20th of November, 1923, in Williamsport to the late John Pompeo and Nellie (Rhea) Pompeo. She is survived by her (5) children, Edward Mues (Lancaster, PA), Deborah (Mues) Long (Sanford, FL), Arnolph B. Mues, III (Patsy) (Winter Park, FL), Dennis Mues (Debra) (Deltona, FL) and Scott Mues (Elaine) (Jacksonville, FL). She is also survived by her sister, Helen Ray (Charlotte, NC), along with (7) Grandchildren and (6) Great-Grandchildren. Kathryn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnolph B. Mues, Jr. of 54 years. As well as her sisters, Carmela Pompeo, Connie Carducci, Julia Vernaglia, Alvera DiBartolomeo, Viola Gilson and brothers John Pompeo and Albert Pompeo. In 1968, Mr. Arnolph and Kathryn Mues started Kay-Deb Manufacturing in Williamsport, PA. Kay-Deb Manufacturing produced ladies sportswear and children’s apparel. Shortly thereafter, in 1972 Kay-Deb changed it’s named to Katrina Manufacturing. Katrina Manufacturing was a family owned and operated business. In 1983, the Mues family decided to relocate to Florida. San-Del was built in Sanford, FL and was owned and operated entirely by The Mues Family. In 1988, San-Del changed its name to Clothesmakers. Clothesmakers manufactured uniforms and private labeled golf shirts. Clothesmakers employed up to 130 people in Sanford and the surrounding areas. The Mues family considered all of the many people that contributed to the family business as family, rather than employees. Unfortunately, Clothesmakers retired in 2002. After the business closed, Mr. Arnolph and Kathryn Mues enjoyed their retirement and their children began their own journeys into new careers. Kathryn's memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. on November 19, 2016 at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn, .5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL 32771. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, our family requests a donation to VITAS Hospice in the name of Kathryn Mues to honor the compassionate, extraordinary care they provided during her last moments of life.
