

Larry Dale Harris was born in Lynchburg, Virginia where he graduated from Brookville High School. On September 5, 1965 he joined the Navy. In April of 1969 he married Linda Creasy. In October of 1969 he left the Navy only for a short time, found real life work wasn’t for him. He reenlisted back in the Navy that January of 1970. Larry & Linda had kids while traveling the world where ever the Navy sent them. In 1988 he finally retired after serving 23 years. Larry moved his family to Sanford, Florida. Where he worked at Seminole High School in the Auto Body Shop as an Assistant Teacher, he taught 26 years and retired.
After retiring for a second time Larry & Linda finally got to enjoy the "Retirement Life", which they took a road trip across Country & returned home to enjoy their life as Grandparents. In Larry’s spare time throughout his life he has dedicated 58 plus years to the Boy Scout of America. The past many years he has been with the Troop 507 of Lake Mary, Florida. He treasured every minute of teaching welding to the many Boys Scouts at camp, loved camping in which he loved Dutch Cooking Desserts. Larry cherished chatting around the campfire with all the Adult Troop Leaders.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Linda C. Harris; both parents, Melvin & Louise Harris. He is survived by his daughter, Janell Pires; son, Jay Harris (Shana Reese), two grandchildren, Kiana Harris, Bradon Pires, and soon to arrive a great grandson Haiden and his sister, Sandra Gomez. Larry also leaves behind many close family and friends. Larry will be Missed Dearly but, he will always be in Our Hearts.
A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held, so that Friends & Family are able to gather and reminisce of his life on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 12:00-2:00pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home-Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 507 In Memory of Larry Harris. Donations can be mailed to 700 Rinehart Rd., Lake Mary, FL 32746 with mention to Boy Scout Troop 507.
