Laurel Susan Messina-Rawls, wife of Hardy Rawls, was born on August 5, 1968, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She went to the University of Miami and studied Classical Guitar. She received her bachelor's degree in music at the Manhattan School of Music. She performed professionally in New York City and Florida. She then came to Sanford, FL where she taught guitar at Seminole State College. Laurel was loved by her students. She loved the Lord Jesus and attended St. Andrews Chapel.
One of her favorite verses was Psalm 16 verse 11:
“Thou has shown me the path of life.
In Thy presence is the fullness of joy,
in Thy right hand there are pleasures forever.”
A graveside service for Laurel will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Oaklawn Park Cemetery, 4991 Co Rd 46A, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
A memorial service for Laurel will be held Wednesday, May 14th 2025, at 1:00pm at Saint Andrews Chapel, 5525 Wayside Drive, Sanford Florida 32771.
Flowers will be accepted at the chapel.
