We love you Grandma, I’m going to miss making dinner for you and our talks by the fire. I’m so grateful we got the time we did together. You were always so gracious and supportive, I wish we had more time together. We miss you more than you could imagine.

Leona, where to begin.  We first met when Cindy and I stopped by for a night before we ventured to Fort Lauderdale and our first spring break together.  You welcomed me with a big smile and a whopper and fries from burger king!  I was so grateful as I was both a nervous wreck meeting you for the first time and really hungry, you nailed both! Your visits with Bob when Cindy and I first married are memories I'll always cherish. I will always cherish and remember most vividly was the site of you and Bob arriving at our condo after our Robert was first born. We needed your help, and you were there. I'll never forget the relief I felt when you arrived!! The kids and Cindy loved spending vacations with you when they were young, and our trips together to Disney were a blast. So many fun memories.  Thank-you Leona, and my your soul rest in peace. God Bless.

What a wonderful neighbor of 40+ years!  I will miss talking to Ms. Lee over the fence or seeing her smiling face at my front door, sometimes holding a plant.  So many special memories…I will see her again in Heaven’s garden. ❤️❤️

This is the last time I saw you for your birthday,  and you were out fishing while Cindy and I made burgers on the grill

It’s hard to choose just one memory of my grandmother because every visit with her was filled with excitement and joy. Her love, compassion, and warmth were unmatched, especially for us, her grandsons.

I’ll never forget the time my mom and I flew to Florida to surprise her. When we arrived at her doorstep, my mom had me stand at the door while she rang the doorbell and hid around the corner. The look on my grandmother’s face—shock, joy, and a little confusion—will forever stay with me.

To me, my grandmother embodied love. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply. She loved her children—my mom, Cindy, and my uncle, Jimmy. She had a special affection for all living creatures, from animals that wandered into her backyard to the fat crows that frequented Long Island during her visits.

Grandma, I love you and miss you. You were a wonderful and kind soul, and your love will always be with me.

As the wife of Leona’s grandson, Ryan, I have fond memories of visiting her in Florida. Both before and after children. Her great grandchildren,  loved visiting her in Florida.  They viewed her backyard as a place of wonder and excitement. The kids vividly remember sitting in her yard and seeing cows, cranes, cats, birds, and of course, fishing. Timothy and Madeleine talk about visiting grandma Leona whenever the topic of fishing presents itself.   We will continue to pray for Grandma Leona’s soul and reflect warmly on the memories we were able to share with her.  May eternal rest be granted unto her Oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her, and may her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
